ADMM-Plus Achievements

The ADMM-Plus has become an effective platform for practical cooperation among the participating countries’ defence establishments.

In 2012, the ADMM-Plus EWG on Military Medicine and Maritime Security conducted a Table-Top Exercise in July and September 2012 respectively. The year 2013 set a historical milestone in the ADMM-Plus cooperation when for the first time the military of ASEAN and the Plus countries joined together to conduct practical exercises in the areas of HADR, military medicine, counter-terrorism and maritime security. The ADMM-Plus HADR/Military Medicine Exercise was held in Brunei Darussalam from 17-20 June 2013, followed by the ADMM-Plus Counterterrorism Exercise (CTX) in Sentul, Indonesia from 9-13 September 2013, and the ADMM-Plus Maritime Security Field Training Exercise, in Sydney, Australia, from 28 September-1 October2013. In 2014, a Table-Top Exercise under the framework of the ADMM-Plus Experts’ Working Group on Peacekeeping Operations was held in Manila, Philippines from 11-14 February.

Emulating this success, four live exercises were counducted in the second ADMM-Plus three-year cycle of 2014-2017, namely, the ADMM-Plus Humanitarian Mine Action and Peacekeeping Operations: Exercise Force 18 in Pune, India, on 2-8 March 2016, the ADMM-Plus Maritime Security and Counterterrorism Exercise in Brunei Darussalam and Singapore on 2-12 May 2016, the ADMM-Plus Military Medicine and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Exercise (AMHEx) in Chonburi Province, Thailand, on 1-11 September 2016 and the ADMM-Plus Maritime Security Exercise: Exercise Mahi Tangaroa in Auckland, New Zealand from 13-16 November 2016.
