ADMM-PLUS HADR & MM Ex Was Impressive

The ASEAN Defence Minister's Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief and Military Medicine Exercise (HADR & MM EX) came to an end yesterday with the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar `Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Force (RBAF).
Enhanced commitment, friendship and cooperation were among the major achievements of this year's said the Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, the guest of honour at the Appreciate Night of the ADMM-Plus HADR & MM Ex when delivering his speech last night to almost 3000 military officers and personnel from eighteen countries. Dato Mustappa had been greatly impressed by the high level of commitment shown by participating nations. "It is gratifying to see the high level of commitment and professionalism demonstrated by all the participants during the exercise," he said."Within a few days of working together, we have forged closer friendships and cooperation with each other," he said.

The opening ceremony of the inaugural ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief and Military Medicine Exercise (ADMM PLUS HADR & MM Ex) HADR & MM Ex was held today at Multi National Coordination Centre (MNCC) which marks the official start of the exercise.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Major General DatoPaduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saifu lMulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Present to witness the officiating ceremony were the senior officials and personnel from all the participating countries.
During the opening ceremony, the Commander of RBAF activated the button which showcased a video montage that included a brief history of ADMM and ADMM- Plus, the arrival of the troops, exercise preparation and Force Integration Training (FIT). The ceremony concluded with a group photo session.

ASEAN Fair 2011
Prior to the retreat, the ASEAN Defence Ministers met informally with the U.S. Defence Secretary, Leon Panetta, to exchange views on issues of common interest.
The ASEAN Defence Minister and Dr Surin took part in the opening ceremony for the inauguration of the ASEAN Fair 2011. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, accompanied by First Lady AniYudhoyono, and several senior Indonesian Cabinet members, presided over the ceremony.
The ASEAN Fair is the President's initiative to celebrate the rich cultural diversity in the ASEAN Community, and to bring ASEAN closer to its people. It is a month-long celebration in Bali and Jakarta, which will culminate in the 19th ASEAN Summit & Related Summits in Bali next month.
One of the highlights of the opening ceremony was the acrobatic flying show by Indonesian Air Force's "The Jupiters" performing 15 breath-taking manoeuvre stunts.
